It's a waiting game

It's been a while now since I last posted, Griffin and I completed our show class this winter in preparation for the up coming shows this spring.

March came and I am just so excited for my little guy, eventhough I know that he won't be ready to totally compete with the big guns in the ring, I can see a great potential in this boy and that he will do a lot of good things in the ring.

We attended our very first fun match of the season on the first of March and I am just as happy as a clam and so proud of my boy, His show training and my patience finally paid-off after his wonderful performance in the ring, although it's only a fun match this accomplishment is just an example of how much your dog can do if you put the time an deffort to train him or her...anyway, Griffin won all his classes, won 2nd in a HUGE class of puppies in Puppy Sweepstakes and went on to win Winners Dog, Then Best of Breed then went on to win Herding Group 2...( 2nd in Sweeps / WD / BOB / G2 ) I couldn't ask for anything more for a young newbie in the ring :o)

At the moment, Griffin and I are continously doing our daily training, making sure that he remembers the things that he needs to do when we enter that ring, for the time being, he is on hiatus until he matures a bit more and hopefully show this Summer or Fall.

A New Season

It's 2007 a new season, a new beginning! Since the last time I posted, a lot has happened

and a lot has changed, It is unfortunate that my boy Charlie is now out of contention for the much coveted AKC CH. title but on the other hand we received a wonderful blessing this year...

A new boy with lots of promise in the world of Dog Showing!

This year we were fortunate enough to be the home of Griffin " Colburn Tirion Skedaddle" he is a Walker and Audrey son ( Ch. Pot O' Gold's Front Runner x Colburn Dover Love Affair )- in doggie terms, this are two dogs with exceptional quality and temperament.

We are looking forward to showing him this fall (he needs to mature a bit more this spring and summer) he has the attitude, structure and temperament that any breeder/owner could ask for and we are thankful to his breeder for giving us the chance to be his home.

We are also excited on our Benny X Talayna breeding ( Ch. Maplecreek Silver Spoon x Ch. Colburn Lady Talayna ) they produced 3 beautiful & healthy puppies - I am very much looking forward to their evaluation 5 weeks from now, they are already showing lots of nice qualities for their age.

Little Charlie Bear

Hi, I'm Little Charlie Bear, My daddy said that I'm just the cutest little thing and he loves to play with my floppy big ears, I love to wake him up in the morning, jump on his bed and lick his face and give him lots of puppy kisses, but he usually hides under the blankie so I just jump and jump around his head until he shows his face again...hmmm, " I wonder why he doesn't look so happy sometimes...maybe he's not a morning person " .

Anyway, every morning around 8:00 AM SHARP - My daddy gives me my bowl of yummy food and then he plays with me for a while and then lets me play with my Auntie Georgy and Mommy Shelley, I don't get to play with Uncle Tim a lot because he's a grumpy boy to little jumpy, squiggly puppies like me. In the afternoon Daddy puts the leash around me-neck and we walk back and forth the dining room and the open space area by the kitchen nook, It seems like he always look at how I stand and how my legs are positioned and moving, I could tell that he is pleased because he always say that I'm a good boy and he gives me yummy goodies too!, Daddy said that both My Mommy and Daddy are Champion Corgis...he said that I am his little champion in the making, he is really proud of me and I love my daddies too!

Daddy said that we will be visiting my Gramma this Wednesday and I have to see the vet too for my boosters, rabies shot & microchip tag...by the way, what is a vet?....hmmnn, I hope they're not the scary hooman with a mask and needle and poke me...well, I guess I'll find out on Wednesday...

My Pemmie's

Like most Pembroke people, Our first involvement with the breed happen when we decided to add a very sweet little Pemmie as a new member of our home. Georgy ( our very first Pemmie ) is an owners dream, she has a very sweet disposition and absolutely loves people, She captured our hearts from the very beginning and we are so glad to have found her breeder ( through the PWCCA website ) not only was she exceptionally nice, her dogs are also nicely and responsibly bred as well.

As Georgy matures, we found a lot fo interesting characteristic of this breed - Yes, I've been warned that they shed like a Wooly Mammoth, I thought that It was an exaggeration until I saw it with my very own eyes :oP, She is also a natural herder " A True nature of the breed " , She is also a clown and a very goofy one.

Georgy has grown up to be the dog that I always longed for, She is a very sweet loyal companion and truly have grown and reserved a very special place in my heart.

Our first involvement in the show ring started in 2004, I was a nervous wreck ( as to be expected in newbies ) I am just thankful to have such encouraging mentors and a wonderful support system, They made me feel comfortable in the ring and gave me valuable information to improve my showing skills, I will be forever thankful to them.

Our very first show dog is Mr. TiM ( Am/Can Ch. Tirion Prince Timothy Gm, CGC ), I am very pleased with this boy and very thankful to his breeder for giving us the chance to be his home, Tim is the very first champion in this home and we are very proud of his accomplishments, In a little less than a year he got his American CH. title and also got his CGC ( Canine Good Citizen), Prior to getting his Championship title, he was also Awarded Reserved Winners Dog in the Cascade Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Specialty in 2005. This year ( 2006) He finished in Canada and got his Canadian CH. title in less than a month, He finished with 2 Best of Opposite Sex and 4 Best of Breed awards. We are just thrilled and amazed with this guy and so Thankful to his breeder/co-owner for such a very nice little boy, He absolutely matured nicely from the runt of the litter becoming this stunning Mr. Show Dog.

Now that Mr. Tim is done in the ring, It's time for the newest kid on the block to strutt his stuff, After our pretty Mommy Shelley's ( Ch. Colburn Dover Fiore in Gemma ) romantic love affair with the handsome Mr. Benny ( Ch. Maplecreek Silver Spoon ) We now have the adorable Little Charlie Bear ( Sleepy Ln Colburn One and Only ) to try out his luck in the ring, We're hoping that he follows both his Mom & Dad's foot steps and continue the beautiful pedigree in his bloodline.
